Nomodic Completes Shell Canada’s First Modular C-Store and Retail Space
It’s been the community gas station since the 1960’s. The Braeside Shell station in southwest Calgary, Alberta has been a convenient refuelling stop for Calgarians dropping off their kids at St. Benedict Elementary School or spending an afternoon at the Southland Leisure Centre. But after decades of service, it was in desperate need of a makeover.
Last week, Nomodic was thrilled to unveil the first modular c-store for Shell Canada. Our goal was to replace the station with a sleek, modern convenience outlet with minimal disruption in the community. Together with our project partners, we made sure residents would have a new gas bar in just 10 weeks from the start of fabrication. As soon as site preparation was underway, construction began on the new structure in an offsite facility. Once it was complete, it took a mere three hours to crane into place with minimal traffic congestion in the area. The structure is entirely sustainable, ensuring it will serve customers in the decades to come.
We’re thrilled to see the advantages of our model in action, and look forward to seeing the c-store serve the community for decades to come.
