Formation of a One-Stop Shop for Modular Construction Services in North America
CALGARY, Alberta, June 25, 2020 — Nomodic Modular Structures Inc. (Nomodic) announced today that it has completed its acquisition of Aithra Projects Inc. (Aithra), purchasing 100 per cent of the company’s shares. The combined entity will operate under Nomodic, uniting Aithra’s strong reputation for modular-centric mechanical and electrical contracting capabilities with Nomodic’s experienced project management, construction management, and turnkey modular installation service offering.
Together, Nomodic and Aithra have formed one of Canada’s largest and most experienced construction management firms dedicated solely to modular and offsite construction. The fully integrated and geographically diverse service offering positions Nomodic as an industry-leading provider of safe and efficient modular construction services across Canada and into the United States.
This announcement comes after Nomodic and Aithra entered a strategic partnership in early March 2020.
“We are thrilled to welcome the folks from Aithra,” said Kevin Read, Nomodic’s President and CEO. “Since our partnership began in March, we’ve worked seamlessly together while successfully navigating a global pandemic. The ability to expand Nomodic’s service offering and provide industry-leading modular solutions lends itself perfectly to our purpose and promise of ‘leaving things better’.”
Nomodic will continue to operate its head office out of Calgary and will soon open a new facility in Edmonton to service clients in Northern Alberta and British Columbia. Nomodic is committed to building on its strong roots and presence in BC, with local staff dedicated to serving clients throughout the province.
Nomodic will also be increasing its operations in Eastern Canada with ongoing projects, personnel, and construction equipment located in Ontario. In addition, Nomodic will continue to utilize the experience of its US-based modular design team to deliver construction projects throughout the Western and Central United States.
“This acquisition enables supply chain synergies between two companies, providing our clients with access to lower pricing, better terms, and strengthened leadership,” said Read.
Nomodic now functions with an increased capacity to operate across Canada with access to Aithra contractor licensing for mechanical and electrical services and permit accounts from British Columbia to Ontario.
“I’m very excited for the future and what this team will bring to the world of modular development,” said Tian Alsgard, former principal of Aithra. “We look forward to showcasing our combined capabilities, solving problems for our customers, and successfully delivering projects across Canada.”
